“Earth and Beyond”
Lewisville Public Art Project
In 2018, Lakeside Arts Foundation was proud to partner with the Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance and artists from the Visual Art League to create the City of Lewisville’s first large-scale permanent Public Art, a 20 foot-tall, kinetic sculpture, titled, “Earth and Beyond," designed and created by local artist, Daren Fagan, in partnership with artists from Visual Art League and members of the community.
This sculpture, made possible by a generous initial donation from Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance, is a structure of welded steel, with glass mosaic insets on the pedestal, designed and crafted by members of the Visual Art League of Lewisville. The sculpture, dedicated to Jim Wear, former director of the MCL Grand arts center, is located on Southwest corner of the MCL Grand theatre, near the corner of Main and Charles Streets, in Lewisville.
